Dr. Jeffrey B. Barner
Jeffrey has over 33 years, experience in research and development both as a principle investigator as well as management of development teams using Wide Band Gap (WBG), superconductors, electro-optics, spin-tronics, III-V and II-VI materials and devices, to name a few. He manages government programs and Cree’s GaN MMIC foundry business for commercial and defense customers using Cree’s unique and innovative WBG technologies. He has managed the foundry services business at Cree since 2008. Previously, Dr. Barner was the R&D manager for seven years at Northrop Grumman’s Advanced Microwave Technology Center in Rolling Meadows, IL and a senior member of the technical staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. Dr. Barner earned his Ph.D. in solid state physics from the University of Notre Dame and has over 90 technical publications and six patents.
