CRD-15DD17P
  • Demonstration of the efficient operation of Wolfspeed’s 1700 V; 1Ω Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFET with an availability of high blocking voltage and high creepage distance (~7mm)
  • Wolfspeed’s 15 W flyback auxiliary power supply board can accept a wide range of AC or DC input voltage (480 VAC – 530 VAC) or (300 VDC—1200 VDC) and provide 12 VDC at the output with an exceptional efficiency of 85%
  • Simple control approach has been utilized to reduce the overall complexity and cost of the system
  • High-frequency operation of Wolfspeed’s 1700 V; 1Ω Silicon Carbide MOSFET has been demonstrated as well that helps in reducing form factor of the board significantly.
  • Targeting high voltage applications such as motor drives; solar power; traction; and energy storage
  • Documentation includes bill of materials (BOM); schematic; board layout; application note and a power point presentation
  • Available for purchase

Advantages of SiC over Si for Unidirectional On-Board Chargers

This article is part of a two-part series that discusses the design considerations of OBC systems and the advantages that SiC has over Si in such designs. The practical advantages of implementing SiC over Si for OBCs are detailed in a head-to-head comparison of Si and SiC based OBC designs with a cost and system benefit breakdown.

Wolfspeed in Automotive Power Systems

This webinar highlights the advantages of Wolfspeed’s SiC portfolio for the automotive market. The impact SiC can have on a variety of applications including EV drivetrain inverter, 400 and 800V battery system, etc. It also compares systems benefits and reference designs (XM3 300kW, Vepco 180k). Second section of the webinar introduces SiC in EV OBC, 400 and 800V battery system, unidirectional and bidirectional, comparing system benefits and reference designs (6.6kW 650V, 22kW,1200V). The webinar and its content is in Italian language.
