Evaluation Gate Driver Tool Optimized for the 1200 V XM3 Module Platform
Wolfspeed’s CGD1200HB2P-XM3 is a form-factor-fitting, two-channel gate driver for the 1200 V XM3 module platform with inline gate pins. Each of the two gate drive channels features over-current protection, an active Miller clamp, and separate turn-on and turn-off gate resistors for effortlessly tuning switching speeds. Onboard 2 W isolated power supplies support up to 80 kHz switching frequency. The gate driver board features MMCX connectors to accurately measure high-side and low-side VGS with fiber optically isolated probes such as the TIVP1 from Tektronix®. The CGD1200HB2P-XM3 is an upgrade to the CGD12HBXMP gate driver by adding integrated gate measurement connections, improving the temperature feedback signaling, improving the overcurrent protection, and decreasing the soft-shutdown resistance for faster turn-off during faults.
