Wolfspeed’s KIT-CRD-CIL12N-YMC is a dynamic characterization tool that can be used to evaluate and optimize the switching performance of Wolfspeed’s YM3 SiC six-pack power modules. Applying this evaluation kit in a clamped inductive load (CIL) test setup in conjunction with one of many reference gate driver board options (listed below) allows for the measurement of:
  • Timing (TDelay-On; TDelay-Off; TRise; TFall)
  • Overshoot (VDS-Max; ID-Max)
  • Speed (di/dt; dv/dt)
  • Switching Loss (EON; EOFF; ERR)

Specifications

  • Optimized for Wolfspeed’s YM3 Silicon Carbide six-pack power modules
  • On-board 200 µF Bulk Capacitance and High Frequency Film Capacitor Bank Supporting bus voltages up to 1,100 V
  • Low inductance layout with stray inductance of 9.5 nH at 10 MHz
  • On-board, high-bandwidth Current Viewing Resistor (CVR)
  • Screw terminals for power supply and load inductor connections
  • Includes gate driver adapter board for compatibility with many reference design boards
